There are questions at start and at end, but for the most part it runs itself (restarts a couple of times on its own), so you can totally set it and forget it for a couple hours. To know: Once you restart, your Mail.app will need to upgrade its database, which with your volume of mail, might take a while. You can use the gmail website in Safari / Chrome / Firefox while it runs. If you haven't already upgraded iCloud Drive, you will be prompted to again. Go ahead. When you open Photos.app you may be prompted to upgrade as well. You should turn on all the settings. If you go into Photos.app > Preferences > iCloud you should have selected 1. download originals, 2. my photostream and 3. iCloud photo sharing. When you open Notes.app, you'll be prompted to upgrade as well. Say yes. EFTA00328251 Everything else should be self-explanatory and self-maintaining... altho, I'm sure I've forgotten something, so feel free to send me questions. gJameS Ce, your Personal Genius, http://personalgenius.us On Mar 9, 2016, at 1:13 PM, Lesley Groff < wrote: All sounds good! I was planning to do my upgrade today but have a question. How long will I be down for during the upgrade? Do I need to sit and watch because there are things I will need to click on or is that only at the beginning of the initial install? Any hiccups I should know about before diving in? FedEX is annoying me by holding the machine in Jersey rather than deliver it early (scheduled for Friday). Grr. I'm waiting for a new client to lock down dates for an install next week, but once I hear from them I'll synch with Merwin. How'd the home upgrade go? gJameS Ce, your Personal Genius, http://personalgenius.us On Mar 9, 2016, at 12:07 PM, Lesley Groff < wrote: He is not back until evening of 17 Sent from my iPhone On Mar 9, 2016, at 11:59 AM, james I personal genius <1 Hi Lesley, > wrote: EFTA00328252 Jeffrey is having me upgrade the iMac on the fifth floor @ 71st. Do you know if/when he's in town next week? I'd rather not invade his space, this isn't an urgent install. Thank you, ,James Ce, your Personal Genius, http://personalgenius.us EFTA00328253
