Making the most of your Mercedes-Benz During your delivery orientation, you let us know you'd like to learn more about the following features and systems in your vehicle. Please click on the links for short videos that will help you enjoy your vehicle to the fullest. • Windshield Wipers -- click here. • Cruise Control -- click here. • Power Folding Mirrors Press the Power folding mirror button to fold the mirrors towards the vehicle. Press the button again to extend the mirrors. The passenger side mirror will angle down when the vehicle is in reverse. Note: Many vehicles require the passenger mirror adjustment switch to be selected for this feature to operate. • Power TilUSliding Sunroof The sunroof sunroof can tilt up or slide open. > The switch is in the overhead control panel. > To tilt the roof up for venting, press the rear of the switch up, in the same "tilt" direction. > The slide the roof open, "slide' the switch rearward. Press past the point of resistance to fully open the roof. It stops at an ideal position to help minimize wind turbulence in the cabin. > To close the roof, slide the switch forward, or pull down on the rear edge of the switch. > On some models, the "slide" function also operates its sunshade. Otherwise it is manual. • Automatic Climate Control The climate control is operational whenever the engine is running. You can operate the climate control in either the automatic or manual mode. In "Auto" mode the climate control adjusts air flow and output to reach the selected temperature in the shortest amount of time. Setting Temperature: Use the temperature controls to separately adjust the air temperature on each side of the passenger compartment. Maximum cooling MAX COOL: if available, this feature will activate the air recirculation and provide maximum cooling and blower speed. • SiriusXM Radio SiriusXM Satellite Radio broadcasts nationwide programming with a paid subscription. > A 6-month trial is included with new vehicles. > Press the RADIO button on the dash several times or use the Audio menu of COMANDA® to select "Satellite Radio." > Use the central controller to navigate through the menus and channel options. > Tune to any station except 184 to ensure that the trial period has started. Please see the SiriusXM Channel Guide in the kit for your Operator's Manual. • Air-recirculation Mode To shut off the flow of outside air through the climate control system, press the recirculate button. The red indicator lights up when the flow of outside air is closed off. > Recirculates filtered cabin air while in use. > Helpful in temporarily eliminating outside odors, pollution, or other vehicles' exhaust fumes. > Automatically engaged with MAX COOL. > Automatically switches off to restore fresh airflow after approximately 20 minutes. Please read your Operator's Manual. • Lane Keeping Assist A camera monitors the painted lane markings. > Active above approximately 20 mph, indicated by an icon in the instrument cluster. > The steering wheel vibrates three times if start to drift out of your lane without signaling. > The warning will not be issued if you steer actively, as when deliberately making a turn across the center lines, or use the turn signal. > System can be switched off via the menu display in the instrument cluster. • Blind Spot Assist Blind Spot Assist will alert you if another driver if is in your blind spot. The system is only active above 20 mph. A yellow triangle is displayed in the side mirror when the system is in standby mode. A red triangle is displayed in the mirror if a vehicle is in your blind spot. An audible warning is announced if the blinker is switched on and red triangle is present. • SiriusXM Radio and Traffic SiriusXM Satellite Radio broadcasts nationwide programming with a paid subscription. > A 6-month trial, including use of SiriusXM mobile app, is included for new vehicles and 3 months for pre-owned vehicles. >New vehicles with COMANDA® also include 36 months of SiriusXM Traffic and Weather services. > Press the RADIO button on the dash several times or use the Audio menu of COMANDA® to select "Satellite Radio." > Use the central controller or trackpad to navigate through the menus and channel options. > Tune to any station to ensure that the trial period has started. EFTA00339704 • Mercedes-Benz mbrace — click here. • KEYLESS-GO — click here. • Opening the Trunk or Liftgate You can open the trunk from inside the vehicle, or outside with the SmartKey or KEYLESS-GO. > Press the button on the driver's door panel for 1.5 seconds (vehicle must be stationary). > Press and hold the button on the SmartKey. > Pull it closed with the handle under the lid. > Power trunkfliftgate (if equipped): Press the button on the underside of the lid, or on the driver's door (and on the SmartKey for SUVs.) > You can limit the maximum opening height. • Adjusting your Seating Position Controls are located on the door, or on the side of the seat. > Move the sections of the "seat' in the button the way you wish to move the actual seat. > Lumbar support (power or manual) can be adjusted via a control on the side of the seat. > Multicontour seats allow precise fine-tuning of the lumbar, shoulder and thigh supports. > Some models have controls on the seat, and others adjust via the COMAND screen. • Adjusting the Steering Column The power steering column adjuster is a stalk on the left side of the steering column. > To adjust, move the stalk in-out or up-down. For models with a manual steering column: > Pull the lever beneath the steering wheel. > Move the wheel in-out and up-down to your desired position > Re-lock the lever. • Headlamps — click here. " Multifunction Steering Wheel Many of the features you use frequently can be operated via buttons on the steering wheel. > The buttons near your left thumb let you use the menu screens in the instrument cluster. > The menus also offer personalized settings, a trip computer, a service reminder, and more. > The buttons by your right thumb control the audio volume, Bluetooth hands-free calling, and the voice control system (if equipped). > The large central area sounds the horn. • Central Controller click here. • Audio system basics The audio system is operated via buttons in the dash, steering wheel and/or central controller. > Buttons on the in-dash panel let you directly select a mode, radio station or adjust volume. > To program a radio station, press and hold one of the 10 keypad buttons until it beeps. > The star key lets you tune in a radio station by its frequency, like "955" for 95.5 FM. > The "mute" button silences the audio. With a phone paired, a call will mute it automatically. • Audio system options Depending on your car's equipment, you can play music from a variety of sources. > There's a CD player/changer in the dash. > The Media Interface lets you plug an iPod into a cable in the glovebox or console. > A memory card slot in the dash lets you play digital music files from your own collection. > Bluetooth audio streaming can play music wirelessly from Bluetooth-equipped devices. > You can subscribe to SiriusXM satellite radio. > And Music Register lets you copy your CDs and audio DVDs to a hard drive in the dash. • Personalizing Voice Control Enhanced Voice Control includes a feature to help it better recognize your own voice. > The "Individualization" process takes only a few minutes, and it need only be done once. > You can turn the feature off and on anytime. > With the vehicle in Park and in a quiet place, select "System" from the main COMAND menu, then "Settings," then "Voice Control." > It's a good idea to turn the "Help" feature on. > Your car then talks you through the process. • Using Voice Control — click here. • Pairing your Bluetooth Phone — click here. • Garage Door Opener click here. • The three mbrace buttons -- click here. • Electronic Gear Selector The column-mounted gear selector offers four positions, as indicated in the gauge cluster. > Step on the brake to shift into or out of Park. > Push the lever down to select Drive (D). > Push it up, past the point of resistance, to engage Reverse (R). Tapping the lever lightly upward selects Neutral (N). > To engage Park (P), push the button in the tip of the lever. If stopped, opening a door or turning off the engine selects P automatically. > The shift paddles let you upshift or downshift. Please read your Operator's Manual. • COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST On many models, radar-based technology constantly watches traffic ahead. > If it senses you might collide with the vehide ahead, based on your speeds and the distance, it sounds a warning to brake immediately. > As soon as you start braking, the system adjusts the braking pressure automatically. > If you're not braking hard enough, it increases it. If the car ahead speeds up, it decreases it. This can help avoid a collision. Please read your Operator's Manual. • Active Parking Assist Included with PARKTRONIC on many models is an automatic parallel-parking feature. > The system measures parking spaces as you drive by them below 20 mph. The blue, boxed 'V indicator tells you it's measuring. M arrow tells you EFTA00339705 the space will fit your vehicle. > When you stop and select Reverse (R). a message will ask if you desire parking assist. > Press OK on the steering wheel to accept. > As you control the brake and accelerator, the system will steer the car into the space or out on some models. Please read your Operator's Manual. • Tire Pressure Monitoring System — click here. • Adaptive Highbeam Assist A camera looks ahead at night to sense the headlamps and taillamps of other vehicles, and varies the headlamp beams accordingly. > Turn on the feature using the menu screen. > When the headlamps are on (via the AUTO setting or ON position of the headlamp switch), and the combination stalk is in the "high beam" position, the feature is automatically activated. > The headlamps will automatically vary from low beam to full high beam based on the presence of and distance to vehicles ahead. • Digital Operator Manual An on-screen version of the Operator's Manual booklet is built in to your vehicle's COMAND system. It appears on the large in-dash screen. > Using the central controller, select the globe icon in the upper menu, at the far right side. > You can find information in the manual by three methods: performing a keyword search, a visual search, or a full index of the contents. • You can also find more instructional videos here. The Mercedes-Benz 24-Hour Roadside Assistance Program If you need help repladng a flat tire or jump-starting a battery, or if you need fuel or a timely tow, this free app will alert Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance of your exact location and let you know exactly when help will arrive.
