It's not unusual unfortunately that these IRB discussions drag on like this at any academic institution. (On my end, it's typically been a 1-3 week wait for any response from the IRB every time I communicate with them. I think this is partly because, it seems, even the most basic responses need to be agreed upon by the whole committee.) I think realistically, it will be at least 2 weeks before I know the status from the IRB. I may need to recollect ypo samples but I'm anticipating, Jeffrey's samples, which were collected differently - under the HMS PGP IRB protocol - can just get moved into the new study.
