From: Lesley Groff To: Joseph Thakuria Subject: Re: Invoice timing for Jeffrey Epstein? Date: Mon, 19 May 2014 13:44:03 +0000 HI Joe...wanted to circle back and see if you have heard anything! Hope all is well. Lesley On Apr 25, 2014, at 7:38 PM, Joseph Thakuria wrote: Hi Lesley (and Rich), There's still a lot of back and forth between the MGH IRB and me to get the study approved. Pm submitting more materials to them on Monday and will hopefully have more updates for Jeffrey by end of next week. The process has been frustratingly slow. I may have a clinical (rather than research) option for Jeffrey and others before the IRB approves this ypo pilot study - but without the privacy concerns I discussed with Jeffrey in the past. I'll keep him informed of this possibility if it becomes available. (I'm still working out the logistics to make that possible.) Thank Jeffrey for his patience. It's not unusual unfortunately that these IRB discussions drag on like this at any academic institution. (On my end, it's typically been a 1-3 week wait for any response from the IRB every time I communicate with them. I think this is partly because, it seems, even the most basic responses need to be agreed upon by the whole committee.) More to follow, Joe On Apr 21, 2014 12:08 PM, "Lesley Groff" Hi Joe...any news on your end re an invoice for Jeffrey? thanks, Lesley On Apr 10, 2014, at 8:00 PM, Joseph Thakuria wrote: Hi Lesley and Rich, > wrote: I was hoping to hear back from MGH IRB by today but I'm still waiting. The irb will be meeting on getting this ypo protocol under mgh on april 1st (this coming tues). So, I should have an update on where we stand on this a few days after that. I might be overly optimistic, but if all goes well, my hope would be for data by end of April. Have a nice weekend, Joe Thakuria Hello Joe. Just checking in to see where you stand with an invoice for Jeffrey. My calendar shows it has been 2 weeks since I last checked in. Please give an update. Thanks, Lesley Sent from my iPhone On Mar 10, 2014, at 1:02 PM, Joseph Thakuria > wrote: So technically, Lesley, I can't do anything until the MGH IRB gives the go ahead for work to continue. This is not just for Jeffrey. This is for all they ypo samples. As soon as it's approved, I'll forward an invoice to you/Richard/Jeffrey. I think realistically, it will be at least 2 weeks before I know the status from the IRB. I may need to recollect ypo samples but I'm anticipating, Jeffrey's samples, which were collected differently - under the HMS PGP IRB protocol - can just get moved into the new study. I'll get back to you 2 weeks from now or earlier on where we're at. Apologies for the delay. I know you are waiting on others...but I would like to give Jeffrey some sense of when this might happen. Thanks and hope you had a nice weekend. Lesley Assistant to Jeffrey Epstein EFTA00369379
