Hi Roy and Carlos
Thanks for getting in touch. Both Joi and I have full sets of equipment so we would really only need tanks and
weights and equipment for Jeff incase he would like to join Joi? I know Joi would prefer to dive on Nitrox so this
could be something we can try and arrange prior to the trip from the lads at Redhook? If we are able to get a
loose plan in place I should be able to tell you how many tanks we would need.
Once I have flight details from Joi for when he will arrive and leave it will narrow things down. Depending on
what time he arrives in LSJ on the 4th he would probably like to get a dive in to check his equipment and if they
are planning to head out on the 7th it really only leaves us with the 5th and 6th to plan some dives.
Carlos, what is your local knowledge of the sites around LSJ? Unfortunately my experience is more towards the
BVI and surrounding areas.
Both Joi and I have BI/B2 visas so if there is time to do a day sail out to the Rhone for a couple of dives and
then back up to USVI to do a 3rd in a good location close to your home port it would be awesome. You would be
the best person to ask how long this might take and what the pros and cons are with the BVI customs checking in
and out.Being 4th of July weekend I anticipate it would probably be hectic with boats from the USVI heading
towards Norman Island and Jost van Dyk?
In the meantime I will get with some of my contacts in the area to get some suggestions for sites .
Looking forward to your feedback and advice.
Kind regards
Ernst

Nice to meet you as well. I am the manager on LSJ. I am forwarding your info to Carlos, he is
our boat captain and he is also a diver. Before I was the manager on LSJ, I was a yacht
captain on a boat that spent about half of ifs time based in the VIs. So, I've got the numbers
for a dozen or so sites from my yachtie days.
The only complication with the Rhone is BVI customs and immigration. People frequently try to
sneak in to dive the Rhone and the BVI is keen to this, so they watch this area closely. We
EFTA00389081
would have to clear in and out of BVI and back in to USVI. This is not a problem as long as all
guests are either US citizens or hold B1/B2 visas.
We are happy to assist you in anyway. We have pretty limited dive gear here but there is a
really nice shop in Redhook. Please let us know if you would like us to reserve any equipment
prior to your arrival. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Lesley and Roy
A Pleasure to virtually meet all of you .
I usually take care of Joi's diving schedule when he travels and would really appreciate it with me if you
could put me in touch with the right people on your team to help coordinate some quality dives for him.
I spent a year in the BVI managing an operation out of Scrub Island and we dived everywhere from Anegada
to as far as Jost van Dyk. I believe you guys are closer to St Thomas so I might ask your thoughts on sites
closer by but we would like to look into the possibility to have an early start and head over to the RMS
Rhone for 2 dives on one of the days if it is feasible .
Let me know who would be the right person to chat with regarding doing a bit of planning ahead of the trip.
Looking forward to meeting all of you.
Kind regards
Imist
