So what these authors did is a two-part study. So the first thing that they did is they did an extensive literature review to look for commonalities in the literature about what are the commonly described stages that a perpetrator engages in and what are the behaviors that are associated with those stages. So they did a very comprehensive literature review. They identified a number of specific behavioral and observable strategies that individuals have identified in the literature.
