From: "Mike Groff' cj To: "'Ike Groff" •=l Cc: ' >, Subject: RE: next weekend Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2011 20:27:31 +0000 Dan, I think that is a great idea. We will plan to stop and see Ty and M. Hopefully the weather will be just fine. I think that pancakes would work out just fine. They we could follow up with the games and head out to the south. Too bad you won't be around, but I certainly understand. We had such a big day today in San Gimignano that we stayed in the apartment and had toasted cheese sandwiches and half a chicken breast. Hard to believe that he end of the Italian trip is coming to an end with our return next Tuesday. After we leave here, we are heading up to the lake region, Como and Garda. There are many different pictures of Italy. We have seen a wide variety. It has been a lot of fun. I will probably call one more time before we head back to the USA. Talk to you soon. Dad From: Ike Groff [mailto: Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2011 3:28 PM To: 'Mike Groff' Cc: ); Subject: next weekend Dad I sent the card out today to Aunt Margaret. I do not know Dad, seems very expensive to me. We are about to go into a recession and the are paying 125 per shares. GR traded at 26.50 in 2008. Seems very aggressive. I do not think George would have bought up here. It is not like they are stealing it at some bargain price. With UTX down 6.46 or 8.5% I think the market thinks the same thing. We will get Skype, I have my tech guy coming over next week to reevaluate our technology. EFTA00427324 By the way. Mom asked me last month about stopping at our house on your way to Florida. I will unfortunately not be in town since that is my buddy trip down to Florida. I did say it may be worth coming to our house to see Ty since I know he would love to see you. He wants to show you his Halloween costume and so forth. Pancakes in the moming could be a great pregame meal. I think you would both enjoy watching Ty in his Soccer match and baseball game. I know he will get lots of playing time since many of the kids have a camp that week. Ty is really good and I just think with your impending move to Florida you may not get to see him play many sports. I know he would also play very hard for you as he would want to impress you. Ty also has a baseball game the same morning. Baseball starts at 9:00 and soccer starts at 10:00 am. We have to leave baseball in the middle so he can get to soccer. Soccer would be over by around 10:45 so I do not think it puts you that far behind schedule. I think you could come down on Friday night and perhaps see Ty practice also or just come on Saturday and leave your house a bit early so you could see the games. It does end up a bit of running around on Friday since he has both soccer and baseball practice, but really whatever works for you makes sense. I do think this may be a rare opportunity to see him play since you are driving right by New Canaan anyway. Ty is going to be a great athlete. I think much better than I ever was and to see him perform amongst his peers at age 6 would be a nice treat and perhaps a rare one since you will be living much further away soon. The weather looks good but of course it is 10 days away. I think if it gets bad and they cancel the game you could cancel and just go to Fl. Anyway I thought I would send this since I had never revisited. From: Mike Groff [mailto: Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2011 1:56 AM To: Ike Groff Subject: RE: SA: GR. Also: UTX [United Technologies agrees to buy Goodrich for $16.46 in cash - WSJ] EFTA00427325 Thanks. I hope that this is good news. When we called Terri on Facebook, Alan answered and said he was a little disappointed because there was a thought that Goodrich might buy SPX aerospace unit where Alan works. I hope this is a good move for UTX. I think the fit with Hamilton is a good one and mu suspicion is that the management of Goodrich will take over Hamilton. Trip is still going well. I hope that you get a computer with a camera for Skype. It is really great. We have talked to Terri a couple of times. Both Katja and Nik have come on to talk a little as well. We are going to try San Gimignano again today. We are leaving at 8 am. We couldn't find a place to park last time. We will talk to you soon.
