From: To: James Ce Subject: Re: My Home Printer/Scanner had died... Date: Mon, 28 Nov 2016 20:21:53 +0000 You re the best...this all sounds good to me... JE IS buying so I will take your advise...and once here I hope I can totally set up with no issues! :) On Nov 28, 2016, at 2:52 PM, fames ce I personal genius <1 > wrote: Hi =I The Epson Espression Premium XP-830 you note below would work fine, but it is an inkjet, which means the printer is discounted because you'll pay more for ever-empty ink cartridges over the life of the printer. Amazon has it, with an ink multi-pak for $170 https://www.amazon.com/Epson-Expression-Premium-Wireless- Multi ack/dp/B0179FL I Q0/ I'd recommend considering the HP LaserJet Pro M277dw Wireless All-in-One Color Printer, which is slightly smaller physical size (16.5" x 16.4" x 12.7" vs Epson's 19.1" x 16.8" x 10.4"), but laser so the toners will last much longer making it cheaper to own over the life of the printer. Amazon's price is $280 hops://www.amazon.com/HP-Laserlet-M277dw-Wireless-Printer/dp/B00TVACKEE/ IThlfrey is buying, I'd order one of each of the high-capacity toner cartridges too, to have spares on hand: Black - https:/Avww.amazon.comiliP-CF400X-Original-Laserlet-Cartridge/dp/B00UBMO61G/ Cyan - https://www.amazon.com HP-CF401X-Original-Laserlet-Cartridge/dp/1300UBMO7RY/ Yellow - hops://www.amazon.com HP-CF402X-Original-LaserJet-Cartridge/dp/B00UBMO97W/ Magenta - https://www.amazon.com/HP-CF403X-Original-Laserlet-Cartridge/dp/B00UBMOBN4/ Both support AirPrint (printing from iPhone / iPad, etc), but I'd recommend installing the drivers from Apple and not from the CD included in the box (those CDs are always horribly out of date). The Apple Epson drivers are available at https://support.apple.cotn/kb/DL1792 The Apple HP drivers are available at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888 Once you have the printer set up & plugged in place of your recently deceased printer, install the relevant driver above and then add the printer via System Preferences > Printers. It should see the printer automatically, you'll just need to change the driver to use from the AirPrint driver to the installed Apple driver. I know that last bit sounds daunting, but it should be obvious at that moment. If you get overwhelmed or stuck, I'll have you install an app that allows me to control your screen so I can take care of the software side remotely.
