Its a very small quiz just to wrap up the unit. - graphing solutions to inequalities (IXL AA.2) - solutions to inequalities (AA.1) - solving one-step equations (Z.6-8) Well mostly work with whole numbers. I think there is 1 fraction and 1 decimal problem. The key to these is not simply using mental math to solve the equations, but showing the inverse operation and checking the solution, like this video shows: http://virtualnerd.com/middle-math/equations-functions/solving-addition/ subtraction-example. There should be other videos like this on Google classroom from previous homework assignments. Hope this helps! Thank you for reviewing with Ty at home. He is lucky to have you both for support! -Nicole On Fri, Jun 9, 2017 at 3:44 PM, Lesley Groff <lesleylee(iiigmail.com> wrote: ugh...64...ok...I'm glad you were able to get him in with Ms. Potts ...he told me his brain hurt yesterday after spending the time with her! I hope some of his homework and the quiz next week will help pull him up. I want to work on IXL with him this weekend...can you let me know exactly what I should review with him for this quiz...? On Jun 9, 2017, at 3:41 PM, Nicole Graham <nicole graham@ncps-k12.org> wrote: He scored a 64. His current average is a C. I have a few more homework scores to input and there is a quiz next week on equations. I did speak with Mrs. Potts after class and she was able to review some of the testing she did with him and how well he did on many of the parts, which made him happy to see. - Nicole On Fri, Jun 9, 2017 at 3:22 PM, Lesley Groff <lesleylee(ii)gmail.com> wrote: Oh n0000. Thank you so much for letting me know. Very much ch appreciate it. He is truly struggling and it breaks my heart. I know he wants so badly to do well. It's just not easy for him. He is bringing 2 friends home today so at least he is collected enough to have them around. We will talk to him over the weekend. Please, can you tell me what his grade is on the final? I had him leave the room to collect himself and I believe Mr. Gillan (from another team) went into the bathroom to talk with him and then he went to Mrs. Potts for a while. He seemed more put together once he came back into the room. I wanted to speak with him more than I did in class, but never got the EFTA00454994 chance. I'm happy to review things more with him during a workshop time or another time. I just wanted you to be aware of what happened. It hurt for me to see him so upset. :( I'll touch base again soon. - Nicole On Tue, Jun 6, 2017 at 5:48 PM, Lesley Groff <lesley.jee@gmail.com> wrote: Great! I think we can totally make this work. What do you charge for a 1 hour session? Could you come to our home? We don't live far from Saxe.... I'm taking grad classes at Sacred Heart on Monday and Wednesday evenings starting at 4pm. There's a week in mid-July that we'll be away. Other than that, I'm flexible as far as the day and time. I can be flexible, so we don't have to set up the same day/time each week! If you want to take a look at your schedule, we can touch base again in a little while. I'd be happy to work with Ty. - Nicole On Tue, Jun 6, 2017 at 10:01 AM, Lesley Groff <lesley.jee(iegmail.com> wrote: Hi Nicole...we can also look at any day that is good for you just with a mid day start time ...like 3pm...once we narrow down the day that is good for you I can go through each week to determine if the time works or if we need to tweak it a tad. I'm sending my kids to daycare for a few days to help keep their routine. Were you thinking about once a week? Maybe we can touch base at the end of the school year. If I can help out, I am more than happy to do so! If not, there are several other teachers that I know who tutor and I would be happy to recommend them.
