Couldn't have said it any better myself. I truly believe he has it in him, and I wish him the best of luck in
upcoming tryouts.

Ty did let me know that you were tough on him. Ty has a lot to learn and we agree, sugar coating is a disservice. I often
ask him, do you want me to lie to you or tell you the truth, when I work with him. The truth often hurts but it is the only
way to improvement.
I did go with the assumptions of what you explained in your reasons for your toughness.. If he decides to work hard he
can be very good. Neither you or I can do it for him.
I think Ty was a bit surprised with the evaluations but I said Ty, you are a pretty solid B team player. If you are A team
player you are going to get schooled if you do not get better and play hard all the time. Ty did see some teammates at
football last night and I think he was happy to hear that their evaluations were equally stringent.
I told him coach Rump's job is to get you guys to the next level. He is letting you know what you need to get there and
further not just get there and be the last guy on the bench.
Thanks again
Ike

Hi Ike -
Thanks for the note. Please reach out with any questions/concerns/comments you may have around Ike and his
continued development.
As I am sure you noticed and as Ty likely communicated, I have been disproportionately tough on him from a
coaching perspective relative to other players. Reason for doing so is 1) he has the natural ability to be a big time
player and 2) he is a tough kid and can handle being coached at a high/honest level.
If he plays like he did in the first game yesterday, he is an A team player in my eyes without a doubt. If he plays
like he did in the second game, it becomes more questionable.
I certainly pulled no punches in my evaluations of all players, but my view is that sugar-coating the reality does
them a huge disservice. My hope is he takes the constructive feedback, dedicates himself to working his ass off
to get better, and I can enjoy watching him playing closed defense for New Canaan's high school team in a few
years.
He is a good kid, and I had a lot of fun coaching him this summer.

Thank you for taking the time to coach our team.
Thank you for coaching Ty. We very much appreciate your high expectations of him. Ty learned a great deal and I could
see him improve with each tournament gaining more confidence as the weeks progressed.
Ty's goal is to move up to the A team next year. I believe your evaluation was constructive and honest.
Thank you again

Hi Everyone -
Coach Kirby and I would like to thank you all for providing us with the opportunity to coach your boys. We both
had a great experience and really enjoyed the summer season with Eclipse program. The boys were all engaged,
respectful, and committed to our goals for the summer, and as the boys are undoubtedly a reflection of their
parents, thank you for making our jobs easier with such high character individuals.
While all involved - coaches, players, parents - certainly would have liked to end the summer on a higher note,
Coach Kirby and I have been pleased with the improvements each and every player made over the last 1-2
months.
Last evening, I sent all your boys home with a short player review. The intent is to provide a very honest
evaluation of where each player is today relative to where they are expected to be at this time. In the event
anyone needs a bit more clarity or context around the comments, please let me know. The common theme across
all players is certainly the need to work on off-hands. I hope that the evaluation will push many of the boys to
spend more time on the wall throughout the summer/falUwinter.

Thank you again, and I would like to wish all of your boys the best of luck in the further pursuit of their
successful lacrosse careers.

P.S. Thanks to Jen Gentner for being the team's photographer! Below is the most recent team picture from
yesterday's tournament.
