Please join The Friends of the Semel Institute for a special "Friends and Family" Open
Mind screening of the Academy Award winning film, Coco, followed by a discussion with
Coco Director, Lee Unkrich and preeminent UCLA faculty members.
Coco is a 3D computer-animated musical fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios
and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich who directed
the film with co-director, Adrian Molina, Coco follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel

Rivera who is accidentally transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks the help of his
deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living.
