Case 21-58, Document 58-1, 04/12/2021, 3075763, Paged of 25 allegations in the Indictment are supported by the detailed, credible testimony of three different victim-witnesses. (See, e.g., Ex. A at 5; Ex. F at 9-10). Each victim- witness’s testimony is not only corroborated by that of the other victim-witnesses, but also by the testimony of other witnesses and documentary evidence, including flight records, diary entries, and other evidence. (Ex. A at 5; Ex. F at 10-12) B. ‘The Initial Bail Hearing 10. Before Maxwell’s bail hearing, the parties filed extensive written submissions. (Ex. A, B, C). On July 14, 2020, Judge Nathan heard lengthy oral argument from the parties and received statements from two victims. One victim, Annie Farmer, addressed the Court, stating that Maxwell “groomed me and abused me and countless other children and young women.” (Ex. D at 40-41). An anonymous victim submitted a written statement describing Maxwell’s abuse. (/d. at 38-40). 11. Judge Nathan ultimately ordered Maxwell detained on the basis of risk of flight and explained her reasoning in a detailed oral ruling. (/d. at 79-91).
