I want to pay them, but JE won't let me yet. He said they had our deposit for a year before we received the
panels, so he said she will need to wait for months for payment. Of course I can't tell her this. I told her I
requested payment from my client and as soon as I receive payment, she will get payment.

Dear Bella,
I am writing to you as I cannot get a reply from
. The bark panels were picked up by your
agent in early August and I have been trying to get payment ever since. Could you please let me know
what is happening. Best

Dear =,
These panels survive for up to 20 years on the ceilings of Haus Tambaran's (structure in the Met) in the
Washkuk. The structures have no walls, therefore the panels are somewhat exposed to the worst of
the elements.
The pigments are natural earth pigments which can be sealed with an acrylic matte sealer. For long
term preservation the back side of the stripped and flattened frond should probably be treated with
an insecticide and/or a sealer for strength. (They will be fumigated before they leave New Guinea.)
In the Washkuk, panels are sewn together as they are never perfectly flat or the same size, nor do they
have nails.
I will send you a panel today.

Hi l=
I think it would be a good idea to have an old panel sent to me just to be sure! The intended use for them is to line the ceiling
of a "tiki hut" type structure in the Caribbean, so they will be exposed to inclement weather at times! Do you think they will
work for that purpose?
It can be sent to:
Many thanks,

Dear
You could send the check directly to me. My address is:
Pacific Artefacts
2256 Esplendido Ave.,
Vista. CA 92084
My daughter Rebecca also works with me and her phone number is
(backup).
I have already sent word to a neighbor of David's in Ambunti to expect an order.
I do need to make sure you understand that these are not shields. They are panels made from the
flattened bottom end of a sago palm frond. They are quite light and much more fragile than a wood
shield. I would be happy to send you, free of charge, an old beat-up (and disposable) panel to
confirm that we are all on the same page.
Thanks

HI MI
I just wanted to confirm we would like 40 shields made similar to the ones in the photo which are on exhibition at the
Metropolitan Museum in New York. Brian had sent me some examples of a few shields which a certain "David" had made
which my client really liked. I am happy to send you a check for $1000 as a deposit. Should I send it directly to you, or should
I send it to Brian? Many thanks for your help,
