From: To: ma Max." la Subject: RE: Jimmy/Lina Date: Sun, 27 May 2001 02:54:07 +0000 Importance: Normal Ms. Maxwell: GREAT!! Glad to hear you liked one of the couples! It will help me in future searches to learn why you chose them over the others. (They came to us through Distinctive Staffing in Palm Beach.) I hope you didn't feel pressured to make a decision due to all the issues! I'll talk to Jimmy/Lina and have the information you requested before we meet however I won't have access to the forms to FedEx until the office opens Tuesday. I absolutely agree about lying and don't think any form is acceptable. I would certainly expect any applicant/employee to tell us the truth rather than needing to threaten them with the background check. I've always used the background to substantiate rather than leverage and don't understand how you separate the people who will only tell you the truth when they think you can or will check??? I'm really interested in knowing your reasoning on this. Jimmy and Lina seem like a good match for us. But my concern is the lack of management and cooking capabilities and we'll need to work around that area. I hope you saw my interview notes and you're not expecting too much from them. The other area of concern is our staff; John and Mary definitely have their "sympathy vote" and I think we need to handle this with Kidd gloves so we don't erode their confidence in us. The last thing we want is for them to lose trust and begin to look else where. There are too many jobs out there for the staff you've taken years to train... I'll think about the transition and have an outline of ideas to discuss with you... Although you certainly don't need me to be in agreement to administer your decisions; I'm in total agreement with you on this and will do everything possible to make it as smooth as possible and least stressful for you and Mr. E. Regards, Original Message EFTA00582474 From: G. Max [mailto Sent: Saturda , Ma 26, 2001 2:54 PM To: Subject: You did good w/the couples. The Filipinos w/the kid won and when I see you Tues to discuss how we handle the transition I will explain why. It is pointless at this time to go through the list of things that was wrong with John unless it is to explain why he no longer has a job w/us at the time of transition. I need to know a few more details regarding the couple I. Where do they live currently? 2. You should indicate to them that we will make them a job offer and prior to it they need to fill out paper work - send them the paper work to fill out by fedex with a return fedex slip 3. I want to know what they are currently earning 4. Where are they planning to send the kid to school + What does the school cost Do not make a formal offer just yet as I do not know when exactly they will start and we need to make a decision on how to make the transition and I need to figure out a package for them which is why I need their currently salary. Plse make sure that what ever no. they give you it is the accurate one as I will pick up the real no. on my search and I take and extremely dim view of any form of lie even that one which people think is acceptable. THey told me that the reason why they left their last employer (the one thay worked for 4 years) was because of salary I am v relieved and happy to have finally found someone Thank you EFTA00582475
