DERSHOWITZ, Defendant. AFFIDAVIT OF NON-PARTY JEFFREY EPSTEIN The undersigned, Jeffrey E. Epstein, having first been duly sworn, hereby deposes and says: 1. I am over eighteen (18) years old and have personal knowledge of the facts stated herein. 2. 1 am not a party to this case. 3. I am a legal resident of the United States Virgin Islands and have been for many years. 4. I own vacation homes in France, New Mexico, New York, and Florida, but my actual, permanent residence and domicile is in the United States Virgin Islands. 5. I was not a resident of Palm Beach County on September 1, 2015, nor did I have any intention of making it my domicile as of that date. 6. I traveled to Palm Beach County, Florida at that time solely because I was under a Court Order, demanded by Edwards, to appear personally at mediation, in a case in which I was the prevailing party, regarding the amount of costs and attorneys' fees that Edwards would pay to me. I had originally designated an agent to attend mediation as my authorized representative and had no intention of personally attending mediation or being present in Palm Beach County on September 1, 2015. 8. But for the Court Order obtained by Edwards and his counsel that I personally appear at the mediation, I would not have been in attendance. 9. While sitting in the mediation room waiting for Edwards to appear at the mediation, Edwards's counsel entered the room with a process server, pointed me out, and had that process server serve me with a Subpoena Duces Tecum to appear for a deposition in this case in Palm Beach County, Florida.
