TY TUDDIV, IMTITUTE OF 1770
Jeffrey Epstein
9 East 71st Street
New York, NY 10022
Dear Jeffrey,
Last March at the 2n° Annual Order of the Golden Sphinx Gala, The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770
honored David Heyman, founder of Heyday Films and producer of such blockbusters as all eight "Harry
Potter" films and "Gravity." In a terrific evening of entertainment, guests were introduced in spectacular
fashion to the Hasty Pudding and its philanthropic work.
This year, the 3s Order of the Golden Sphinx Gala will honor music legend Clive Davis, the Chief Creative
Officer of Sony Music Entertainment. Clive, a five-time Grammy Award winner, does not need an
introduction. He has been instrumental (pun intended!) in launching the careers of innumerable artists
such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson. It will take place at the Plaza
Hotel on April 13th, 2015, and will be headlined by our 2014 Man of the Year Neil Patrick Harris, of "How
I Met Your Mother" and "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" fame. We also expect our Man and Woman of the
year, Chris Pratt and Amy Poehler, to be in attendance. It will be an exciting night, and I would be so
grateful if you would again be part of this exceptional event, and support our cause and organization.
As a reminder, the Institute, which has its ancestral home in Farkas Hall at Harvard, is comprised of the
Hasty Pudding Club, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, and the Harvard Krokodiloes. The Hasty Pudding
Club is the oldest collegiate club in the United States (boasting five former U.S. Presidents as members).
The Hasty Pudding Theatricals is the third oldest theatrical group in the world, behind only the Comodie
Francaise and the Oberammergau Passionsspiele. The Theatricals has produced an original, full-length
musical farce virtually every year since its founding with this year's play, "iOopsl... Madrid it again"
being the 167th. The Harvard Krokodiloes is amongst the oldest and most distinguished a cappella groups
in the world.

Most importantly, the Hasty Pudding Institute has a philanthropic mission to provide educational and
developmental support in all aspect of the performing arts for the underprivileged, to encourage satire
and comedy, and to cultivate young talent around the world. In 2014, thanks to your generous
donation, the Institute supported a number of initiatives including the BAM Arts & Justice program; the
development of a pilot Theater and Film program for NYC public schools with the Arthur Miller
Foundation and the Institute of Play; the expansion of the West End House Boys & Girls Club's "Page to
Stage" program, and the establishment of the first ever Hasty Pudding Screenwriting Fellowship with the
Black List, to name but a few. We continuously work to identify new deserving organizations to support
through our grants, a work that has just begun in earnest. You will find more details around the
Pudding's good work in the enclosed annual report.
I am hoping that you would consider renewing your status of "Guardian of the Sphinx" with a
contribution of $50,000 which includes:
•
A prime table at the Order of the Golden Sphinx gala.
•
Prominent listing in the gala program.
•
12 tickets to the 167th Production of the HPT show, "iOops!... Madrid it Again" (in your choice of
New York City, Cambridge or Bermuda)
•
Featured sponsorship on the Hasty Pudding Institute website
The Hasty Pudding Institute and its member organizations rely entirely on outside support to fund their
philanthropic, artistic and educational activities. The Pudding does not receive now, nor has it ever
received in its over two hundred years of existence, any funding at all from Harvard university. When
you provide funding by supporting our event, all but about $250 per person of your contribution is tax
deductible, and goes to support the Hasty Pudding's activities.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and friendship. I look forward to seeing you on April 131h to
celebrate our honoree and support the Hasty Pudding and the performing arts. There is no other
organization quite like it. Its contributions to the wide world of the performing arts are the stuff of
legend.
Very truly yours,
Andrew Farkas
Chairman & Grand Sphinx
