<PLACE LETTERHEAD HERE> <INCLUDE LOCAL ADDRESS HERE> November 26, 2014 BY MAIL/EMAIL: ATTN: Jenny Fernandez NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission Municipal Building 1 Centre Street, 9th Floor, North New York, NY 10007 Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Meenakshi Srinivasan, Chair Frederick Bland Diana Chapin Michael Devonshire Michael Goldblum Christopher Moore Roberta Washington Adi Shamir-Baron John Gustafsson RE: 45 East 66th Street, New York, NY 10065 Dear Commissioners, My name is <INSERT NAME HERE>. I live (or work) in the Upper East Historical District. <Paraaraph(s) to be written in your own words> As many other residents, I believe the district is one of the most beautiful in the whole city and the preservation of the district's history is very important in maintaining that beauty. I write today in support of the addition to the building located at 45 East 66th Street, New York. I believe the small addition is appropriate and has no visual effect to the integrity of the building. <INSERT FOOTER HERE> EFTA00584952 <PLACE LETTERHEAD HERE> <INCLUDE LOCAL ADDRESS HERE> Please find the below reasons for my support: <Points to be made in your own words> 1. The mock up that the applicant has constructed is not visible from the cross streets of 66th Street and Madison Avenue. The mock up is slightly visible when you walk blocks north on Madison Avenue and only visible from locations east of Park Avenue. 2. The small bit that is visible is no more visible than recently approved additions in the Upper East Side Historic District (11 East 68, the Carlton House, among others). 3. The addition that the Mitchell's are proposing seems like an appropriate addition to the existing secondary structure on the 11th floor east elevation, back to a utility brick and enhances the existing structure. 4. The proposed yellow brick that matches the existing brickwork of the building is most complementary to the top of this important building versus what is up there now, industrial metal panels from ages ago. 5. The proposed addition is lower than the existing water tower and elevator bulkhead and chimneys.
