You really can't worry about her, in my view, you need to worry about you. She certainly isn't concerned about your or your reputation. Regardless of whether you are willing to play hardball with Fergie — if the gentle persuasion doesn't work, we need to go after the newspapers for errors, including their labeling you a pedophile. Right now no one is holding them accountable. As I said before, newspapers offering money for stories is not news. There is a strategy: Objective: get newspapers to stop calling you a pedophile and get the truth out; tamp down and ultimately stop the bad press; start generating positive press about your community involvement. Tactics: get Fergie to retract; hold newspapers accountable; filing a formal complaint with the Press Complaints Commission (we would get coverage of this and what the complaint says — what the facts are, as opposed to what has been reported); get op-eds published from experts and separately from friends; get letters to the editors/posts from friends; launch a web offense and defense; find a friendly reporter to do a more definitive story of what happened. This last suggestion of course carries risk, but if it is the right reporter could influence other media.
