Respectfully, Daphne Forwarded message From: John P. Woods, AIA Date: Wed, Apr 22, 2015 at 2:03 PM Subject: R.O. & Generator Bid . Revisions To: Da hne Wallace , Cecile de Jongh < Daphne, , ann rodriquez Attached are the revised drawings for the R.O. & Generator Building Roofing project. These changes are based upon comments from Mr. Epstein at a recent site visit on Friday, April 17, 2015. In summary, the changes requested are as follows: I. The longer building (R.O. Bldg.) will be expanded to a width of 60 feet. There will be roll up doors on both of the short ends. The two long sides will have no openings. The exterior sheathing shall be a typical metal siding provided by the steel building manufacturer. The eave height of the building shall be reduced to 12 feet to minimize the height of the structure. This will also result in the roll up door height being reduced to 10 feet. 2. The shorter building (Generator Bldg.) will have exterior sheathing that is the typical metal siding provided by the steel building manufacturer. The height will be increased to 20 feet to accommodate a roll up door 16 feet in height. This is the minimum height established by the LSJ maintenance staff to accommodate the roll on roll off activities of the dumpsters. I would like to add some observations regarding the change in heights of the two buildings. For one, it doesn't make sense to minimize the height of one building while the other must be a full 8 feet higher. The Generator building now looks out of proportion with that extra height. What may be more appropriate in my opinion is to consider not roofing where the dumpsters will be located and extend the parapet wall up another 3 — 4 feet to be almost 9 feet above the roof slab. This will do a lot to visually screen the dumpsters. You should also consider replacing the dumpsters with enclosed units that have compactors incorporated into them. Some of these type of EFTA00645629 dumpsters are presently being used in very visible sites on St. Thomas, particularly at WICO. Finally, I have also included the revised floor plan for the Maintenance & Workshop Building, eliminating the Break Room. JPW This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
