Good morning,
I am doing my applications to law firms and one firm, Ashurst, asks to respond to the following question.
What are your comments on the decision to combine our business with a leading global law firm earlier this year Why do
you think this is good for our business and our dients? 200 words
I am not sure for which reasons the mergers occur between the law firms and how can it profit the clients and business. If
you are familiar with it, may I skype-call you when you are free to discuss?
This is what I found on their website but I can not just copy paste it in my answer..or I can ?
On 1 March Blake Dawson and Ashurst combined their practices in Asia, and Blake Dawson changed its name to Ashurst
Australia and adopted the Ashurst brand. This marked the coming together of two equals. Together we form a powerful
global presence as one team, with one brand, and a shared vision. This paves the way for a planned full global merger of
the two firms in 2014. Blake Dawson and Ashurst have worked together successfully for more than a decade.
The significant collaboration further strengthens both firms, which are consistently and independently recognised as
leaders in commercial law around the world. It offers clients of Blake Dawson and Ashurst access to deep local market
knowledge and a wealth of resources, with the benefit of a global network and international insight. Our
clients will continue to work with the people they know and trust. The collaboration also brings UK and US law capabilities
and seamless cross-border service around the clock. With an expanded presence in 16 of the world's leading financial
centres, clients will have access to tailored legal teams across the globe to support local, regional and cross-
border transactions and projects.
Thanks for any ideas of yours
