The move adds two new usage-based billing options to the company's existing unlimited/fixed-fee plan, giving customers a greater opportunity to meet the specific needs of their flight operation. The new service plans — called Ultraspeed 100 and Ultraspeed 40 — will allow Aircell High Speed Internet customers the option of paying based on the monthly volume of data they consume over the network. The new plans will be available this summer. John Wade, Aircell's Executive Vice President and General Manager, said, "Aircell High Speed Internet customers can now choose from monthly service plans starting as low as $395/month. With regard to online habits, passenger loads and hours flown, no two business aircraft operators are the same and our new service plans reflect that diversity. Patterned after popular mobile data packages on the ground, the new plans uphold the Aircell tradition of making airborne communications easy and familiar; Here is a consolidated summary of the monthly service plans for Aircell High Speed Internet: Monthly Fee MB Included Fee/Additional MB Ultraspeed Unlimited $1,995 Unlimited Usage Unlimited Usage Ultraspeed 100 $895 100MB $7.95/MB Ultraspeed 40 $395 40MB $8.95/MB As part of introducing its new usage-based packages, one of Aircell's current service plans — called Ultraspeed Lite — is being phased out. The former Ultraspeed Lite plan offered unlimited usage with reduced connection speeds for a smaller fixed monthly fee. Aircell's Wade commented, "In nearly a year since launch, only a handful of customers have subscribed to our reduced-speed plan for Aircell High Speed Internet. This speaks volumes about the mindset of today's inflight Internet customer. When offered a choice in connection speeds, business aircraft operators choose the fast connection every time. They don't want to go slow and now, all Aircell High Speed Internet service plans enable full-speed connectivity." EFTA00650343 Aircell High Speed Internet is the only solution in business aviation that provides a true high speed Internet experience that equals what passengers are accustomed to on the ground, with equipment that is small and light enough to fit on virtually any business aircraft. It is up to 56 times faster than a traditional dial-up connection. In addition to the Aircell High Speed Internet system for the continental U.S., Aircell is offering its satellite-based SwiftBroadband solution for global service. Aircell's SwiftBroadband product is powered by Thrane & Thrane. • < previous • 587 of 1977 • next> • Printer-friendly version • AIRCELL Similar • AIRCELL EXPANDS BILLING OPTIONS FOR HIGH-SPEED SERVICE • EBACE: AIRCELL OFFERS NEW SwiftBroadband EQUIPMENT PACKAGE • DUNCAN AVIATION IS AIRCELL DEALER OF THE YEAR • AIRCELL OFFERS ADDITIONAL BILLING OPTIONS • AIRCELL DEBUTS ATG 5000 HIGH SPEED INTERNET • SI EFTA00650344
