Across the country school is starting back up! More than 250,000 students attend one of our
Learning Garden Schools, and this year many kindergartners are experiencing a Learning Garden
for the very first time.
Imagine a kindergartner who, in her very first year at school, learns how to use her five senses to
explore her Learning Garden. As a second grader she'll plant seeds in that garden and watch them
grow, and as a fifth grader she'll learn to prepare healthy recipes using her garden harvest.
When we dream big, we dream of that little girl going on to a middle school where she can help
plan a fall garden and later attending a high school where she can grow produce for her school's
farm stand. For that girl, and for kids like her everywhere, we want going to school to always
mean going to a school with a Learning Garden. We work every day to make that dream a reality.
That's just one of the reasons we're so excited about this school year. Not only are we planning to
build more Learning Gardens than ever before - ensuring that more kids get to have a real food
education, but we're also getting ready to unveil a big surprise. We can't wait to share it with
you, we think you're going to love it!

Today, the students at Northglenn High School
are receiving a special back to school gift - a
brand new Learning Garden made possible by
a generous gift from the Morgridge Family
Foundation!
The Morgridge Family Foundation "funds
innovative projects that elevate the teaching
profession, while directly impacting the
students' engagement and achievement in the
classroom."
Northglenn's garden features more space than
a typical elementary or middle school garden,
larger beds to accommodate even larger
harvests, and work tables, all of which
facilitate our flagship High School program:
Real Food Lab.
Thanks to the Morgridges' generosity, Northglenn is on track to be Colorado's first Real Food Lab
school where students will explore entrepreneurship and local food systems through the lens of
EFTA00659074
their Learning Garden. To read more about Real Food Lab visit our website here.
We are incredibly grateful to the Morgridges for making today's build possible!

Even the threat of thunderstorms didn't put a damper on The Kitchen Community's second annual
national fundraiser - Neverland Garden: A Glamour Fairytale Party!
Guests arrived in fantastical Peter Pan inspired outfits to enjoy an evening of magic and mischief
high in the Rocky Mountains. First treated to a surprise aerial show from professional stunt
performers JT Holmes and Jeff Provenzano, guests enjoyed a special private performance by the
legendary Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead before adjourning to a delicious family style meal.
We are humbled to report that for us, the most magical part of the night came when guests
contributed a staggering $1.5 Million to our Learning Gardens, ensuring that more students across
the country are connected to real food than ever before - now that's one real food happy thought!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Neverland!
