attached is maintenance quote for B727
Jeffrey,
My plan is to fly the Boeing to AirOne Maintenance in OpaLocka/Miami on Friday to start C check on Boeing
727, along with autopilot issues etc. Morrison and I are waiting for StanBaugh Aviation In Brunswick GA to
quote this work to compare, however, StanBaugh is unable to start on the Boeing until Mid February due to their
current work load. FlightStar and Timco in Jacksonville are to busy to quote this work and have declined bidding
on this work package.
AirOne has quoted $251,410.00 for work package of lower floor and removal of AUX fuel tanks. There will be
additional companies involved in this process, Plane Perfect Interiors for interior window shade repairs, NAS
Fuel Tanks in Orlando will travel to Miami for AUX tank repairs and inspection, They are the specialist in fuel
tanks and where involved with SFAR88 fuel tank AD we complied with a couple of years ago.
AirOne has offered an attractive shop hourly rate of $45.00 per man hour„„compared to Gulfstreams $109.00 as
comparison.
There will be additional costs during this inspection, to recap of some items need addressing:
4 3 Throttle is stiff, may require engine removal to repair Thrust Bearing in Pylon as we accomplished in
London.
-Nose strut needs to be re-sealed, looses Nitrogen charge after 10 days of sitting.
-AUTOPILOT altitude selector on Captains side does not hold alt selected
-symbol generator needs repair
-Forward airstairs need repair,
-interior window shades need string repaired on several mechanical and electric shades in various areas of cabin.
-Morrison also informs that #2 Boeing engine is due HPC turbine inspection, possible engine exchange or
remove from aircraft and send for inspection, DUE in AUGUST 2013, will advise options later this week.
thank you,
Larry
