After spending half a decade working together
on Star Wars: The Old Republic, three
ambitious game designers have formed their
own studio to make the games they've always
wanted to play. Their inaugural title, The
Banner Saga, combines elements of classic
RPGs with turn-based strategy, all wrapped up
in a gorgeously animated mini-series about
vikings and the end of the world. Sounds like a
dream come true — we just need to survive it!

In 1976, the Danish filmmaker Jorgen Leth
electrified the world with his genre-defining
documentary on the Paris—Roubaix cycling
race, A Sunday in Hell. He now comments on
the race professionally for television, lending
his wit and expertise to thousands of viewers
every year, so it seems about time that the lens
was turned back on him. The
Commentator, filmed by Albert Maysles and
scored by Blonde Redhead, will be a love-
letter-as-documentary to the man and his life's
work.

Artificial intelligence
Technically speaking, TJ* is a miniature
fiberboard skull and robotic puppet. But in
reality, he could be your new best friend! His
Arduino-based remote-control system allows
for live control, or you can write your own
software to make him do all sorts of cool things
— like mouth a monologue from your favorite
film, have a conversation with your friends, or
simply keep an "eye" out. He's also available in
a whole bunch of cool colors, so you can dress
him up however you like. The only limit? Your
imagination!
