which of the inventions in the twentieth century has been the most significant for the world ? Why ? Use specific
reasons and examples to support your choices.
In my opinion, among all the great inventions created in the twentieth century, the most significant has been the
intemet. This new technology revolutionized socity in many different fields such as communication, Buisiness
and education.
First, communication has radicaly tranformed our way to exchange information by using new tools such as the
email. People have now the oportunity to send instant messages at very low cost. This global interaction has led
to the exchange of new ideas for personal or professional puposes. An other tool linked to this field are the social
media that created bonds between people all over the world and connecting them to each other.
An other area that has changed in a very positive way thanks to the intemet has been Business. In fact, people
can now shop directly from home by using an e-commerce, offering a wider selection of goods. Finance is also a
new field that has developed a new virtual way of managing people's money by changing the stucture of
economy.
Finally, it is important to mention the improvement of education as a result of the intemet by offering a wider
access to informations. It is a huge step toward progress because everyone can now be self thought just by
learning things taken from the interne. People are now aware of what happens in the world and about new
inventions and dicoveries.
In short, I strongly believe that the intemet has been the greatest invention not only of the twentieth century but
of all time. Thanks to this invention we have the possibility to improve in many different fields of our society.
