The office has no connectivity at all. The power is still out and WAPA has not published a time for Red Hook as yet. They are focusing on Downtown and the areas around and including the hospital and two schools which are being used as shelters.. The office smells as we have no AC - the AYH generator doesn't allow for our AC to work. We all met at the office on Monday and will be there today to air it out and begin trying to work just in the reception area since we can open the front doors for air. There is still no cell service on the east end. Most of the towers came down. There is cell service from mid-island (Cost-U-Less and Havensight areas) going west. There are still long lines for gas and about an hour wait to get into and food store. Everything is still cash and carry. The banks opened for limited service yesterday. I have not been able to communicate with Anna for the last two days. Jeanne told me that Anna was going to LSJ and GSJ on Monday. I did a short debrief with Carlos on Monday and he indicated that there was extensive damage on LSJ. The backhoe had been moved to STT prior to Irma's arrival. I also spoke to Smiley who said that he lost his home. We apparently have a tropical storm headed our way this weekend so more rain for a day or two. Tropical Shipping will begin coming in this weekend, weather permitting. The airport will reopen on Saturday, again, weather permitting. We are still on 6PM -12PM curfew. The roads are more passable but everyone heads out at the same time so it takes me a little over and hour to get to Red Hook and I live right above Downtown.
