After lots of back and forth trying to determine the best way to get Karyna a Biz class seat on
AF from Miami to Paris, return Paris to NY using least amount of money and points to do so
is as follows:
transfer 30,000 Amex points to be converted to 30,000 AF points. Use the 30,000 AF points to
upgrade the premium economy ticket costing $3956.33 to a biz class seat round trip. Upgrade
is not confirmed/guaranteed until the premium economy seat is purchased. Once our Amex
points are transferred to AF, that is it...they are AF points. If we change her ticket we are not
guaranteed we can upgrade her (it is all about availability on each individual flight) If we
cancel her ticket points should go back to your AF account for later travel.
To purchase the biz class ticket and guarantee her biz seat at time of purchase- price is
$10,136.73.
Please advise how you wish to proceed. Transfer 30,000 points to AF and upgrade? or
purchase biz class seat?
