We've been hard at work on the G4G10, 11 and 12 Exchange Books, improving the G4G website (please check it out and let us know what you think) and planning for G4G13 — now only one year away! Below are a few highlights. Good news, in short order you'll be able to fuel your curious minds with the many delightful things the G4G11 book has to offer. If you haven't already received your copy, please rest assured it's on the way and should be in your hands by the end of April. International shipping may take a bit longer. If you are expecting a book and don't receive your copy by this time, or if you didn't attend G4G11 but would like to purchase a book, contact support@g4gfoundation.org. We will also be making the complete G4G11 Exchange Book available for EFTA00681604 download on our website (less a few papers that the authors requested not be given out online). In response to our call for tributes to the late Ray Smullyan in February, we received many wonderful thoughts, memories and photos. These submissions have been collected and will be sent to the Smullyan family and have been posted on our website for posterity. Read Smullyan Tributes Join Us At National Math Festival EFTA00681605 Gathering 4 Gardner will be at the National Math Festival this weekend with mathematical magic, puzzles, and activities. If you are in the area or looking for a short getaway we hope you will stop in—it's free, open to all and sure to be entertaining for the whole family. When: Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC Who: Open to the public Cost: Free! The National Math Festival brings together some of the most fascinating mathematicians of our time to inspire and challenge participants to see math in new and exciting ways. The 2017 Festival offers engaging experiential programs, interactive exhibits, hands-on activities and lectures accessible to a wide range of ages, interests and preparation levels. The Festival is organized by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in an effort to build community, both face-to-face and virtually, for the enjoyment of mathematics. EFTA00681606 Come Join Us! Volunteers Needed for 2017 / 2018 We are always in need of talented folks to help with various tasks and spread the love for Martin Gardner. Please take a look at some of the exciting opportunities now available: • Social Media Strategist — If you have a social media and/or marketing background, are familiar with using social media to boost awareness and are up to date on all of the newest digital technologies and best practices this could be a fun venture. We are looking for an individual who will help us review our existing social accounts and develop a big picture strategy as we move into the future. • Social Media Administrator - If you have fun with social media and want to be involved in helping to manage and publish content on G4G's social accounts on a regular basis this is for you! • WordPress Specialist / Web Programmer — We need someone who can work with us to clean up the Celebration of Mind events map and registration system as well as find and implement plugins in order to better store and search gift exchange papers on the G4G website. If you have programming and/or WordPress experience this could be the project for you. • Web Assistant Administrator - Whether you're a pro at maintaining websites or you've never done it before, this could be a fun way to get your fix or your feet wet. We are looking for an individual to help keep the CoM site updated with host resources, new content and announcements. We can provide basic WordPress training. • Development Strategist - If you are passionate about the future of G4G and have a background in fundraising we would welcome your help as we develop strategies (both short & long term) for our growth. • CoM Hosts - New event hosts for Celebration of Mind are always needed and this is a fun and simple way to get involved and share your passions. It would be great to get events going earlier in the year to fill out our world map. We hope that many of you will join our host list this year! • CoM Welcome Package Writer - If you like writing projects and are familiar with Celebration of Mind, we would love your help in writing text and reviewing designs for the 2017 Welcome Package. EFTA00681607 • CoM Game & Puzzle Event Coordinator - If you are eager to spread the word about G4G and have good planning and organizational skills, perhaps you would like to work on coordinating game and puzzle events in several cities to promote G4G and CoM.
