I am simply a researcher at Duke University and we have no formal agreement with them that would allow me to obtain the money afterward, although NEURO.tv is planned to become a Duke organization in the next year. If it is a problem to give to a non-profit that has not yet obtained 501c(3), you can also make the check payable to myself, Jean-Francois Gariepy, as an individual, and send the money at the same address. We need to have access to the money very fast to insure the success of the Kickstarter campaign and we hope that Mr. Epstein will understand the tight time frame that we are working with. In any case I guarantee that we have applied to obtain the 501c(3) and that I will send you a receipt as soon as the status is obtained. Please tell me if Mr. Epstein is still willing to contribute to our cause under these conditions. If giving to a non- 501c(3) organization means some costs to you, we are willing to take a reduced amount of money too.
