Subject: LSJ Chiller project
Hi Rich to answer your question about ton's of refrigeration the trane unit is 10 tons and the proposed sea water chillers
are 2 -5 ton units =10 tons. The new units will run the both compressors or units on start up but will un load when the
room makes set point. The new unit should save on energy and have a better refrigeration effect on very hot days with
water cooled sea water verse the air cooled condenser also by spliting the tonage we can alternate chiller operation to
save on wear and if one circuit fails we still should have enough ac to keep the room cool during repairs.I still have a few
questions about the installation before we proceed even though JE approved the proposal with Refco about electrical
costs for breaker panel hook up, and disconnect switches if this work is included it is not shown in the proposal and i
have already asked for temperature and humidity operation range for space temperature included somewhere in the
proposal.I will discuss this with you and make sure JE will be protected before we proceed Thanks.RB
