Subject: Fwd: Transshipment Port
Dear Mat
Please go through the info as I was contacted to see if we are interested to manage this small port its very
interesting a US port not subject to the jones act.
There was a giant oil co Hovensa. that left the island along with an aluminum smelter.
all giant ships used to berth
We also might get us federal funds to help build due to the economicss of the US VI.
We would also get a us tax break. The governor is very friendly and very keen to get this port operated

The Wilfred "Bombe" Allick Port and Transshipment Center, located in Krause Lagoon, is locally known as -The Containerport."
This facility is located on a 45-acre parcel on the south shore of St. Croix next to HOVENSA and VIPgs Molasses Pier. It is 12 miles
from the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility, and it is located close to the Henry E. Rohlsen International Airport and an industrial park.
This port is the hub for commercial and industrial marine activity on St. Croix and serves as a transshipment center to many other
locations.
The length of the dock is 1,000 feet. It can berth vessels with drafts up to 30 feet. This facility simultaneously accommodates
containerized roll-on/roll-off and lift-on/lift-off cargo. The pier also has a 30-ton gantry crane to facilitate the loading and unloading of
containers. A 30,000-square foot warehouse is located on the site for storage of cargo that is less than container load. Several acres
are also available for the open storage of containerized and other large cargo or equipment.
This facility was named in honor of the late Wilfred Elisha Allick Sr. of St. Croix by the 22nd Legislature of the US Virgin Islands
via Act No. 6209. It was originally constructed by the Hess Corporation in 1982 and expanded by the Port Authority in 1987.
I've requested a copy of the MOU from the EDA. Will send shortly.
