What you gotta love Americans for is their ability to put their stupidity right out there with a big, old, jolly smile! The wife of one of our faculty candidates wrote a cheery email saying that she had read that women are not supposed to go out in the UAE and are not allowed to drive! Wow... I've never seen as many disgustingly drunk women as I have in Dubai. I wish most women - and men - wouldn't be allowed to drive as traffic would've been better and safer. My Indian, female colleague asked me what my parents are doing to get me married. After having recovered from this stone-age question, I just kept quiet. What's the point trying to explain to a person who comes from a country where it's socially acceptable to take a crap on the street, that Sweden never practiced arranged marriages - not even during the stone age era. It's not until now I've realized how lucky I am to have a passport. I have access to any country in the world. Some nationalities are denied tourist visas to Canada! Canada, my friends, is like a cheap hooker - wide open to everyone! Be safe. EFTA00696653
