An upper state helicopter company called me last week:
Tom Woerlen
Director of Maintenance
National Helicopters Inc.
Tom asking if we are interested in selling our B430 float bags that are removed off your B430.,
The nitrogen bottle we own has a shelf life until 2015, which is almost timed out., cost to replace is $12,300
The offer to purchase our float bags and hardware as seen in photo below is $40,000 to you.
I have to confirm these bags are in airworthy condition to complete this deal if you accept.,
Our floats have been removed for over 5 years and most likely will deteriorate just sitting on the shelf in my
office. I have no plans to install the floats on our helicopter due to the weight increase of approximately 2001bs.,
Brand new floats cost $180k from Bell installed with 2 year wait time for parts.,
Do you approve of selling our old floats bags for $40,000.00 or just keep them?
Thank you
Larry

Hi Larry, sorry about the Boeing thing!
We'd agree with the Dave's evaluation and are prepared to offer $40k
(assuming it's all serviceable) at this point only due to the bottle turning
into a pumpkin next month. New bottles are available and our price is about
EFTA00699276
$12.3k, which would bring us back to the $50k-ish mark.
In addition, if throughout this installation process, it gets determined
that there may be a few items still existing on your a/c that we could use,
we would be willing to pay additionally for those if you're willing to take
them off?
We'd love to make a deal, so please let me know.

Hello Tom, I've had a broken Boeing the past three days and been extremely
busy., What price are you thinking of offering for my floats parts that I
have so I can let my boss know, I think it would be helpful if you could
tell me what price you're thinking that's fair?
Thx
Larry

Hello Tom,.
I just received your voice mail, sorry u missed your call.
I was out flying today, not sure if you knew, we operate a Gulfstream
IV and Boeing 727 along with our Bell 430., I met with David Burch
manger at Bell in Fort Lauderdale Excutive airport yesterday., I
explained you are interested in acquiring my float system, he
confirmed the lead time is up to a year for float system parts,
depending out which parts you need., I tried researching my log books
for a part number for my floats to no avail., David recommended
contacting Bell in Piney Flats to research my float system., My serial
EFTA00699278
number B430 is 49078 I attached a photo of the Bell part number for
the Nitrogen blow bottle if this helps., I'm sure there is great
researched involved trying to find out if this float system will work
on your helicopter., There are some parts still installed on my
helicopter that you will have to buy from bell to complete the system,
however I am able to offer everything in the previous photo I sent as
far as floats bottle and other hardware that you see in the
photograph., I'm sure this is approximately 80 to 90% of the parts
needed for your install., I would have to get approval from my owner
If he is willing to accept an amount of money for the parts I have to
offer you., I'm not sure what price you think your willing to pay?
Mr Burch thought a fair price for what I have in parts is in the
$50,000.00 range., You can call me anytime tomorrow I am free most of
the day., at the least, if you wish to proceed I would recommend
having bell inflate the bags to make sure they are acceptable and pass, I
want to be fair.
Best regards,
