It used to be that business cellular packages were used for firewalls to report when the primary internet connections went offline. Those services were usually ridiculously expensive compared to the consumer plans because carriers like to gorge small businesses whenever possible. EFTA00710281 I'm worried that the boss is going to sign off on this, and we're going to end up committed to a package with very little data and a couple of thousand $$ a month charge. Brice is laser focused on the device — the modem & antenna — which affects reliability, but we NEED to know the VZW packages before we buy hardware to use with them. Also, I've told Brice on several occasions quite explicitly that there is NO advantage to tying this connection back into the Microwave T1 (phone and HVAC) network. The only reason I suggested that to begin with was because it was something I could do remotely and avoid having him reconfigure the wireless network without me. He blew that when the trial service was setup without a static IP and I had to walk him through breaking the two networks apart. There's NO reason to rejoin the networks now; we get NOTHING out of it, so we don't need a static ip for this connection.
