I assume that he will be serving as a member of the advisory board and that one of his responsibilities specifically will be to formulate and administer the linguistic challenges. That particular duty is described in Section 2(d) below. Please advise if the description of services (our standard description with the exception of the additional of 2(d)) is acceptable for Dr. Chomsky and I will forward the agreement to Rich to have signed. Like our standard Consulting Agreement the term of Dr. Comsky's agreement is for one year. Thanks. " 3. In connection with serving as a member of the Foundation's Advisory Board, the Consultant shall perfonn all of the following services: (a) Seek out, identify, investigate and evaluate new trends, important and innovative developments and productive areas of research and inquiry in the Specified Discipline, compile and maintain abstracts, summaries, reviews, articles, reports, studies, and other information regarding the same, and provide copies of the same to the Board of Directors as and when reasonably requested by any member of the Board of Directors. EFTA00711754 (b) Seek out, identify, investigate, evaluate and recommend professionals who are key players in the Specified Discipline, compile and maintain dossiers, including, but not limited to, curricula vitae, bibliographies, and current and past projects of each the professionals considered by the Consultant, and provide copies of the same to the Board of Directors as and when reasonably requested by any member of the Board of Directors. (c) Arrange for and organize informal meetings between one or more individual members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation and such professionals, in each case at such locations and dates and times as from time to time reasonably may be designated by any such member of the Board of Directors. (d) In consultation with one more members of the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board, formulate the areas of inquiry, questions, rules and procedures for, and plan, publicize and administer, a program of not less than ten (10) scientific challenges in the Specified Discipline, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence language and/or artificial linguistics, in which such professionals may participate with the prospect of receiving grants and prizes for their successful efforts. (e) With the assistance and coordination of the Foundation and other members of the Advisory Board, from time to time arrange for and organize formal presentations by and symposia with any such professionals, as well as others, on such interdisciplinary topics involving the Specified Discipline, and on such dates, as are approved by the Board of Directors. (f) Seek out, identify, investigate, evaluate and recommend for approval by the Board of Directors proposals for the Foundation to fund important projects in the Specified Discipline which are compatible with the purposes, goals and objectives of the Foundation, as identified from time to time by the Board of Directors, and the Foundation's status as a tax exempt organization under Section 501(cX3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as the same may be amended from time to time (the "Code"). (g) Monitor the progress and development of projects funded and proposed to be funded by the Foundation, and report on such progress and development to the Board of Directors as and when reasonably requested by the Board of Directors from time to time. (h) Prepare periodic reports of the Consultant's activities under the provisions of this Agreement as and when reasonably requested by the Board of Directors from time to time. (i) Upon reasonable advance notice, be available to individual members of the Board of Directors to discuss the Consultant's activities under the provisions of this Agreement.
