From: "Daniel M. But I write for another reason....This opportunity is special because it is a business investment but, more importantly, a spiritual investment. I couldn't help but notice your "Israel" chalkboard in the dining room - and I have a feeling that you grew up like me in the City - more culturally Jewish than religious. My mother came from London in the '60s because Chaim Weitzman sponsored her to help raise money for the Weitzman institute. My father, from Brooklyn, never stepped foot in a shul since his rabbi embarrassed him at his Bar Mitzvah. So, how I became observant (I keep the sabbath, study twice a week, etc.) is some sort of miracle. But let me get to the point... We are building a synagogue in Manhattan that is like no other...not in its grandness - but in its heart - it's a synagogue that is lead by a South African pied-pipper of a rabbi (in 2 years we are busting out of our space with 200 regulars) and it is a sanctuary and unique community of mostly Australians, South Africans, and New Yorkers. These are amazing people, successful business men, artists, etc. These are people that pretty proud to represent the Jewish community - I wish there were more of them. But this is also a business investment (the spiritual investment gives dividends in heaven, but there are also monetary dividends on this one). The details are below. I realize this is a total long-shot that you might be interested...and don't even expect you to be...but the rabbi told me that we all needed to go out of our comfort zones on this one. So this email certainly qualifies. Want to meet with an amazing, worldly, brilliant (and very connected) rabbi? Best, Daniel Daniel M. Wishing you a successful and joyous month of Mar. As we reach the final days of our building campaign, we have a new strategy. After attempting to solicit many potential donors/investors for our new facility, we have come to recognize that a solution is for The Beis to partner with a developer. We need to raise $12-15 million to purchase the basement and floors one and two of the building. This will give us approximately 15K square feet - three times our current facility- and will enable us to have magnificent facilities for all ages in the most prime location on the Upper West Side. This Wednesday March 5th at 5pm is the deadline for bidding on the property at 555 West End Avenue. Please assist us in finding a individual who will take the naming rights of this facility for $12 million. We have reached out to developers as potential partners and they await to hear from us ASAP. This is a game changing opportunity for Jewish learning and living in New York City. Best regards, Rabbi and Adina Shippel EFTA00717316
