Hi Jeffrey,
We will continue to work on these items. I sent the sketches to Gary and Doug as a preview, to get
comments before issuing formally to you for review. The purpose of the 3D views and the plans is to show
the revised programmatic layout -circulation, plans, and the relationship between areas. The "look and
feel" of the spaces is something we would focus on once the layouts are approved.
We can prepare view showing the arched window. Our initial thought was that it may not relate to the rest
of the architecture. But we may have ruled it out prematurely, and we will get prepare a sketch with it for
EFTA00731715
review. We will send that as soon as it is ready.
Our current thought for the screening room was that it would be viewed as a "garden wall" from the upper
level. Please see the attached pdf, and image of similar condition in the existing garden area. The wall is
about 8' tall on the garden side, and can be further masked with a lower planter and landscaping, similar to
the current attached photo. As we move forward, we will also study this with a visible roof, similar to the
main residence, as we discussed on the Island.
Thanks,
Warwick

These look good,we'll understand all the stairs in the screen complex better when we see the 3D renderings, as well the scale of the
screening room .when the renderings are ready send to all.
Thanks
Gary

Gary,
Please review these draft sketches, and let me know if you need me to add any more info before you present them to Mr. Epstein this
weekend! I have not sent them to him yet. Ken-Hao will be sending you the 3D views later today — as soon as they are ready. I
have attached the plan views only.
With these sketches, we have exhausted the re-design services approved Work Authorization I. These am intended to be programmatic
conceptual drawings. When we move forward with the next phase, we will refine the layouts, and get into the details of the design.
Please note:
•
The layouts are based upon previous Option I, sent 7/28/10.
EFTA00731717
•
We have revised the exterior stairs and circulation per our discussions.
•
We have provided options for the Kitchen windows.
•
We have revised the road, to reflect the corrected site plan we received yesterday, 8/4/10, with the relocated service road. Note,
this did impact the previous layout a bit.
•
I added the door at the north end of the cast wall of the kitchen addition, per my conversation with Doug this morning.
The two "partial site plans" attached reflect the two different screening room sizes. One has a 30' screen, per our original design. The
other has a 25' screen, as I discussed with Gary. I recommend someone mock up the two sizes for Mr. Epstein's review, perhaps in the
living room, to confirm the desired screen size. The screening room area is not completely laid out, as we need to dig into the design of
that area in greater detail, once we set the location and screen size.
If this layout is approved, we can prepare a new proposal to provide complete construction documents, based on this layout, including
all of our consultants. If we need to make minor adjustments, we can accommodate that as we move forward. If we need to make
major adjustments, I can prepare a new proposal for additional conceptual re-design services.
Please call me or email me if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Wanvick
