From: Jeffrey Epstein <jeevacation@gmail.com> To: Boris Nikolic Subject: Re: Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2009 23:45:47 +0000 Ahh , a treatise on fun.. complex fun, like music can be replayed, if it maps to a beethoven symphony and not a kazoo. , movies can't be watched more than a fixed number of times. , chess for those that savor it never gets boring. - I don't need a lot of reminding about the "on the shortness of life"(seneca), The proportion , can not be fractionalized as you suggest, as you would increase your fun factor by reducing your non fun.. I would hope more of a non linear -partial differential equation . -whether dan gilbert marty seligman, happiness. or Mihaly Csikszentmihaly's flow. I think you and i are going to have fun On Wed, Oct 28, 2009 at 5:47 PM, Boris Nikolic < Totally agree with you. wrote: I tend to choose stuff/projects/people that I have more fun with. Nevertheless, a non-fun part comes as a part of a deal. Sometimes, it is there to remind us that we better straighten our priorities and have fun while we can. Also, it is required to prevent boredom, which is the worst. Even the best/most of fun will become boring - if it lasts too long interrupted. We are simply wired that way. The proportion of fun/non-fun part correlates with many other circumstances/factors. I am working on getting my proportion better. I am sure I can learn a lot from you ;) Linking fun to the impact and interesting things is perfect. Right now, I am stranded at Chicago airport which is not too fun. At least I am catching up with emails. Seems that I will arrive in DC relatively late, so let's rather have our call on Thursday or Friday. Are you based in West Palm Beach? I am planning to be in your state (I prefer h as it is more fun) at least few times during winter (Art Basel, New Year, late January). Trying to convinc join but she is sometimes stubborn. Will need your help. Looking forward to meeting you during one of these nps.
