The =udget shown, for $1.6 M/yr is based on a 10 workshop model, with full =taffing. Dr. Krauss advised that staff will need to be hired in =dvance, and this will be carried out during 2015 with a number of staff =ired in advance of the fall programming. They expect to =upplement the initial $1M funding of the pledge with $300K in support =rom ASU, and the remainder in funds to be raised from other sources. =nbsp; As far as the content of the workshops =s concerned, provisionally they are planning workshops and events over =he coming 2-3 years, in addition to their planned workshop in winter =nd spring of 2015 on Extinctions and Water, on the topics that =nclude: The future of Artificial Intelligence =nd Cognition Complexity and Societal =caling Pattern Recognition Origin of =ife Origin of Disease Population =conomics Music and the Brain Origins of =apitalism Origins of Sex Mathematical =iology Origins of Cooperation Information and =ignaling Human co-evolution with other =pecies Limits to =nowledge?
