PATS tank update
Jeffrey
Morrison informs N606DH is parked in Tuscan AZ Dessert bone yard, Keith Baird the Maintenance director indicates the
owner is trying one last time to sell the entire aircraft for $500k, its the oldest flying 8727 built in 1964.
Morrison informs It has a tank system similar to PATS Inc Aux fuel systems, if we purchase the tanks or entire aircraft
every part that is removed has to be sent for re-certification, could be hundreds of parts for the AUX system alone. we
would have the large task of having some company remove the system, our next hurtle would be, finding an SIC to
install this system into your B727, which could be next to impossible according to Larry M. We would only be guessing
on cost to recertify all components if you elect to proceed with used tank system, which is the easier part of this project,
the install and FAA approval is the unknown.
if you would select Southern Tank system company, they include the STC approvals and all necessary engineering
required to install their AUX tank system which is included in the $1.2M quote. (installation price unknown at this point,.
PATS Inc only installs their current system in BBJ or current production aircraft with their STC, there is no market for
installing their system in classic 6727, they cater to 6757 and BB.; aircraft, Aux tank installations.
Both N6060H and Southern Tank systems use a very similar cylinder AUX tank system that is installed in BBJ's, which
utilize round cylinder tanks and cabin pressurization to move the fuel from AUX tanks to Wing tanks.
wanted to give you an update, so we can discuss further enroute to St Barts.
thank you
Larry
