Subject Report #122: Rear-ended, Candidate Weekend
Hallo!
I saw something hilarious: a police car with the sirens on was followed by some 5 cars with their
warning blinkers on. I wanted to stop my car and lie down on the floor laughing!
I drove all the way from Dubai to Abu Dhabi with my warning blinkers on. It was so foggy. I've
been told that in the civilized world, you're only supposed to use your warning blinkers if you're
standing still. Here we happily use them whenever there's heavy rain, fog, lots of water in the
road, passing the scene of an accident... we just love using our warning blinkers! It's also a big,
red button and easy to reach, so it would be a shame not to use it as often as you can!
Great success! After 2 months I finally got my cable installed! Turned out it was the same guy
installing my internet a month ago who now also installed my cable. So he could've done both a
month ago... I mean, come on Etisalat, how ineffective can a company be?
I used my comp days and took 3 days off from work. During these days I managed to get into
BIG fight with my Saudi ex whom I have not seen for 2 years and get rear-ended by a motorbike.
Since I'm the EA to the COO, the Security Team at NYU Abu Dhabi called me 3 times to check
on me and deal with any potential issues.
It's just safer for me to work...
Ok, first day of Candidate Weekend. I am working 7 am - 3 pm and when the alarm went off this
morning I started to regret my samaritan spirit.
I'm at the Sheraton, ordering room service and shuffling around in hotel slippers feeling like
Donald Duck.
I have to say our Candidate Weekend is a great success so far since we haven't lost any students.
I hope you're all well!
