Jeffrey:
It greatly concerns me that you are disappointed so 1 wanted to address your concerns. In regard
to the Office Pavilion entry landscaaping, We proceeded to construction only because we felt that
we had you approval. I felt that we had your approval and go ahead after we submitted the fmal
design plans which were based on several preliminary concept plan submittals. You even made
the comment that we don't need to show you the plans again and we should consider it approved
for construction.
I want to assure you that I would never proceed to construction on anything without first having
your approval.
On the Kite House, I know you like to see photo overlay sketches, but all we've done is
conceptual floor plans & site plans. As soon as I can I'll prepare additional photo sketches for
your review on the exterior views & orientation.
Going forward, I want to make absolutely sure that you are happy with what we are doing and
that you feel that we've given you enough design information to make decisions.
I would hope that we we will be able to walk through with you the various designs when we are
together with Gary on LSJ. 1 believe that we can better communicate in person and on site.
In the future, I will strive to give you better design concepts that are on photo overlays and to
send hard copiesin addition to email attachements. I plan on being back on LSJ during the week
of 1/4/10 - 1/8/10 so we should definitely get together to walk through all of the landscape issues
so that I am totally clear on your vision. I don't have any doubt that we can produce your vision
on the island, I just feel we have a communication issue.
Meanwhile, I am working on the Coastal Zone Management application package for the Kite
House Pool, Wood Deck, Fire Pit, ATV Garage and the Tennis Court. We also plan on
discussing the Boat Dock House but this is more of a Corps of Engineers issue. All of the designs
in the CZM submittal can be revised later.
Please call me if you have any comments or questions and I look forward to seeing you.
