I waxed the top moldings, column capitals =nd all underneath panels. I also applied the wax to the horizontal surface= as well to the secretary writing compartments. I already applie= wax at least four times, but now it turns counter-productive. The previou= layers of wax have to dry well. Unfortunately, you can not force this mat=er. It took centuries of waxing the royal oak furniture ( =acobean ) to look like it looks now. What happens that you can not d=velop higher shin until the previous layers of wax dry well. It sort of sm=ars the wax and it can not go any further. The best thing would=be to train somebody to wax the library every month. I can come back a mon=h from now and wax the whole Library again. I think now we reached the poi=t that no matter what will you do the Library will look th= same. The previous layers have to dry well. All I can do is to apply the =ax again to surfaces that are designated to be sort of matt looking, verse= shiny. You can easily judge this by looking at the small=decorative elements at the top. They shine much better, because the first =ayers of wax was applied seven weeks ago and it had the time to dry. =div>I my humble opinion, every month waxing is almost necessary, for the A= is also adjusted to a higher point and the wooden parts may start splitti=g. You see, I have European training and is so very important t= have good maintenance in such a important location. It avoids unnecessary=expenses later.
