His comments come as coronavirus cases continue to soar in the US -- with at least 32 states EFTA00064715 reporting higher rates of new cases this week compared to the last, according to Johns Hopkins University data. Nearly 3 million Americans have been infected with the virus and more than 129,000 have died. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced she has tested positive for the coronavirus. [ABC CBS NBC] • Florida added more than 6,300 new coronavirus cases Monday, as the state's virus-related death toll rose by nearly 50. The new COVID-19 cases brought the state's total to 206,000, according to figures released by the Florida Department of Health. More than 200 scientists have called for the World Health Organization and others to acknowledge that the coronavirus can spread in the air — a change that could alter some of the current measures being taken to stop the pandemic.
