Thanks for the quick response,MI. I appreciate it.
Maxwell's counsel filed the attached letter with Judge Nathan seeking an order directing the MDC to permit Maxwell to
use the laptop on weekends and holidays.

Hi
While I understand that your office has no objections allowing her to use the laptop on the weekends, the warden of the
institution is has reiterated his objection to that. She has 13 hours Monday through Friday, which is ample amount of time
in addition to secondary computer. Although all the hard drives do not work on the desktop computer a significant
amount do. I do understand we are threatened with court, but again what inmate Maxwell has is above and beyond, more
than what any other inmate is allowed so I don't think we should push any further. They are setting the stage for many
issues for all other MDC inmates (which we have already run into and we are in the midst of) so that's not something we
are willing to accommodate.
As far as the mail is concerned there are standard procedures as to how mail must be processed by BOP national wide.
Additionally, there's mail coming in for 1300 inmates, so unfortunately I can't tell them to pick through all the mail to find
hers in order to produce it to her immediately. It was sent via USPS rather than fedex so it went to the mail room, which
was a better and will get to her quicker than if it was sent through FedEx. I will check on it in the morning, but as I told
Sternheim, legal does not and cannot process mail.
Best,

Please see the below email from Maxwell's attorney. Is there any way to give the mail room a heads up about this package
so that maybe they could process it and get it to Maxwell tomorrow?
Also, the defense is reiterating their request that Maxwell be permitted to use the laptop on the weekend. As I've noted in
the past, my office has no objection to her use of the laptop on the weekends. The defense is now threatening to raise
this issue with Judge Nathan if it can't be resolved. Ideally, we would like to avoid additional litigation on this subject if we
can. So if there is any way to give Maxwell access to the laptop on the weekends, we would be very grateful.
Thanks,

We sent the mailing to the client yesterday by overnight mail so that we could give the MDC an extra day to get the
mailing in Ms. Maxwell's hands before the long weekend. We sent it by overnight USPS mail, not by FedEx, because we
were concerned a FedEx might get delivered to the wrong address or might be lost in the shuffle. It should have arrived
already. As we discussed, can you help us make sure it gets to Ms. Maxwell before the weekend?
Also, do you have any update on whether the MDC will give Ms. Maxwell access to the laptop on the weekend. As I
mentioned on our call, if they refuse to give her access, we will have to take it up with the judge.
Thanks,
Chris
