We had to get Geoff's approval for the friendly subpoena to the plaintiffs' attorney in Hadden, which is why I thought we
would need
approval for this.
The relevant USAM provision is 9-13.410(D)(1):
Friendly Subpoenas for Client-Related Information. The United States Attorney or Assistant Attorney General
responsible for a matter may authorize the issuance of a "friendly subpoena" for client-related information, that is, in a
situation in which an attorney witness expressly agrees in writing (including by email) to provide the information, but
requests the formality of a subpoena. Before issuing any such subpoena, the responsible United States Attorney or
Assistant Attorney General must evaluate the request consistent with subsection C of this policy. If the friendly subpoena
seeks testimony, information, or materials identified in Items (D)(z)(a)-(h) below, the federal prosecutor handling the case
may authorize the issuance of the subpoena.

Aren't we continuing to look at her finances as relevant to, among other things, her ongoing ties to Epstein and/or any
efforts he may have made to buy her silence? Particularly given that we already have some reason to believe (based on
what I recall of our detention memo) that money from Epstein may have been used to finance the purchase of the
property, I would think we have a good faith basis to believe these records might be relevant to the grand jury's ongoing
examination of the conduct already in and surrounding the charged case, especially since we are continuing to
investigate/conduct new interviews/review new materials, and we don't have a trial date. But happy to discuss further.

Our case agent has heard from the attorney who represented Maxwell (or rather, Granite Realty) in the NH real estate
closing. She has volunteered to disclose her file, but asked for a subpoena. We would like to get more information about
this, but issuing a grand jury subpoena seems potentially problematic, as it is not immediately clear to us that these
records relate to any prospective superseder, and we don't have a trial date for a trial subpoena. (Although these would
be attorney subpoenas, since they are "friendly" subpoenas, my understanding is that PSEU approval is not required).
We wanted to check with you to see if you think we should proceed another way, or if we should just ask our case agent
to interview her and see what she is willing to share, or if we should just leave this alone.

I am a real estate attorney in NH. I was retained
by "Jen and Steve Marshal" and handled the purchase closing for Granite Reality, LLC which was the buying entity of the
property located at 338 E. Washington Road, Bradford, NH where Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested on Thursday July 2,
2020. I handled the title and settlement for the closing and was retained for additional services.
So that I do not breach my ethics obligations pursuant to the NH Bar, I presume you may proceed with issuing a subpoena
for my file.
