Jeffrey Epstein Significant Case Notification Date: 08/15/2019 Case Number: 3IE-NY-3027571 Case Number: 90A-NY-3 151227 Case Number: 9A-NY-3144791 Significant Activity: • Sex Trafficking (31E-NY-3027571) o On 08/19/2019, SDNY submitted a nolle pros request to dismiss the case against Epstein to Judge Berman. Judge Berman ordered a hearing be held on Tuesday, 08/27/2019, to discuss the proposed request, citing the public's "informational interest in the process." Judge Berman will give an opportunity for victims to be heard during the hearing. o Victim Interviews: ■ interviewed on 08/26 ■ (2 victims from the indictment will be interviewed tomorrow). It's anticipated that another 4 to 6 interviews may take place after the hearing ■ 20 - 30 victims are expected to come to the hearing, most of them have expressed a desire to be heard. After victims will be brought to SDNY for a face to face meetings with their attorneys and the case agents and AUSAs. o FBI Hotline: ■ There were 3 new calls to the FBI Hotline (bringing the total number of calls to 168) since the last update. 1 call was from a couple that worked for Epstein in a domestic capacity from 2002 to 2003. They will be followed up on; the other 2 call weren't relevant. o Co-Cons irators: ■ - SDNY had a meeting scheduled for next week with attorney to a e their interest in cooperation — will be rescheduled. ■ - A proffer has been scheduled with and her attorneys on 09/03/2019 in Florida. o Victim Services: ■ VSD reached out to the 31 victims who do not have counsel; spoke with 15 to advise them of the hearing; many are still in crisis o Financial Analysis: ■ Subpoenas return was received from Western Union for-; Western Union had nothing on Maxwell. o Digital Evidence: ■ We seized approximately 20 computers from the USVI search. Mostly IMacs and a couple of older servers. A search warrant will need to be obtained, expected to be sworn out sometime this week or next in the SDNY. ■ From the Manhattan residence, CART processed 4 iMacs and 4 Windows boxes seized from the residence and they are available for review. 2 hard drives from the safe were processed and are available for review. ■ All loose media seized from the residence in Manhattan has been processed and is available for review ■ CART has separated all documents, emails, and text files so they can be reviewed according to the taint procedures setup by SDNY. Those items will have to be EFTA00147778 exported to a hard drive so they can be exported into Relativity for review. SDNY has insisted the Relativity system be used to facilitate the taint review for privileged communications and is willing to wait. Some of the exports have been completed and turned over to SDNY. • I Mac has over 800,000 emails ■ I Mac was encrypted and needs a password before imaging; 1 external drive was encrypted, STXU is working on it now. o Forfeiture: ■ Discussions with SDNY are still ongoing regarding the forfeiture of Epstein's properties. Epstein's death makes criminal forfeiture complicated and civil forfeiture could prevent victims from pursuing compensation from Epstein's estate. EFTA00147779
