Good Morning,
Prosecutors Wrap Up Testimony In Murder Trial Of West Virginia Mother. (
PG-79477)
West Virginia MetroNews (4/20) reports from Weston, WV that "prosecutors in the murder trial of
Lena Lunsford rested their case Friday, buoyed by emotional testimony from a second daughter
recalling how Lunsford dumped the body of 3-year-old Aliayah Lunsford in the woods and concocted a
cover-up." The witness, "identified as KC, was 11 at the time of Aliayah's disappearance on Sept. 24,
2011, and took the stand as an 18-year-old at the Lewis County Courthouse." KC "joined younger
sister DC, who testified Monday, in claiming they were made to 'promise that we wouldn't tell' about
finding Aliayah unresponsive hours after their mother struck the toddler in the head with a wooden
bed slat." According to MetroNews, "the sisters say they kept the secret for five years, out of fear for
their mother, as Aliayah's missing persons case turned cold."
WVNews (4/20, Harvey) reports that KC "had a simple answer for why she remains scared of
Mom. `Her favorite line to tell us was: "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out,," the
young woman told jurors Friday." Her testimony "helped Lewis County Prosecutor Christina Flanigan
wrap up the state's case with a flourish, nicely bracketing the testimony from a third sister that was
delivered Monday, the first day of the trial." WVNews adds that "while defense attorney Tom Dyer
pointed out inconsistencies between the statements of the siblings, and between what they said on
the stand vs. what they previously had told law enforcement, both accounts were markedly similar:"
WVNews adds that "Chief Judge Jake Reger told the Lewis County jury of 10 women, two men and
two female alternates that the case likely will get to them for deliberations sometime Monday."

The Charleston (SC) Post and Courier (4/20, Knapp, 311K) reports that "a man named by federal
authorities in Brittanee Drexel's disappearance will be allowed to fire his attorneys, a judge said this
week in a decision that could affect his guilty plea in an unrelated case." According to the Post and
Courier, "The FBI held a robbery charge over Timothy Da'Shaun Taylor, hoping the threat of
prosecution would prod him to reveal details of the 17-year-old vacationer's presumed abduction from
Myrtle Beach and slaying in 2009." The Post and Courier adds that Tayler's plea agreement "calls for
10 to 20 years in prison, and when he was expected to learn his fate in January, his sentencing
proceeding was abruptly canceled as his lawyers said a 'matter of law' had cropped up."

Unified School District for 21 years, including a previous teaching post at Bayview Terrace Elementary

)(FYI)
The Washington Post (4/20, George, 15.03M) reported that the FBI "will join Prince George's County
police in an investigation of a hidden camera discovered in a public-school office." According to the
Post, "The device came to wide attention Monday, when Kevin Maxwell, the school system's chief
executive, and Hank Stawinski, the county's police chief, jointly hosted a news conference to
announce the discovery of the device. ... They said the Baltimore Field Office of the FBI would assist
