Case Number: 90C-NY-3154599 Date Opened: 08/17/2019 Date Closed: 10/21/2023 Overview: On 14 August 2019, a female visitor to Metropolitan Correctional Center MCC, attempted to bring contraband into MCC. A thorough search was conducted of the female visitor that yielded in the discovery of 3 bundles wrapped in black electrical tape. The 3 bundles contained smaller plastic bags that contained brown leafy substance, green leafy substance, pills, a cellular device. and rolling paper. claimed she was instructed to give it to inmate The green leafy substance was tested with NIK test kit E resulting in positive results for marijuana. The brown leafy substance was tested with NIK test kit E resulting in negative results. The brown leafy substance was then tested with NIK test kit A resulting in positive result for amphetamine. who worked at MCC, was tasked with conducting a pat down of when she was suspected of bringing on contraband. During the pat down handed over the contraband items. Further, stated related how Corrections Officer had forced her to have sex with him after catching her bringing contraband into the facility on a previous visit. stated related she was paid $400 for the contraband delivery. According to she first visited on May 31 2019 and did not bring contraband on her first visit. attempted to visit an estimated 10 times while at MCC. fourth visit to MCC on 28 June 2019, was the first time she brought contraband into MCC. got the contraband the day before the visit at the 149th Street and 3rd Avenue subway stop. knew where to meet to get the contraband because called and told her to meet at the train stop at a specific time. always called and told her what to do in order to pick up the contraband. The fifth time that visited MCC was on July 5, 2019. This was second time that brought contraband into MCC. This was the date that Correctional Officer (CO) ( ) caught with the drugs that had brought in. got the drugs on July 4, 2019 from at the subway stop located at 149th Street and 3rd Avenue. also saw at MCC on July 5, 2019. On August 14, 2019, brought contraband for a third time to MCC . received money via Cash App on the occasions where she successfully brought contraband into MCC and passed it to received roughly $500 for the contraband via CASHAPP. During this investigation other inmates and staff were interviewed and discussed the contraband problem at MCC. One inmate also discussed the day Epstein was found and mentioned the guards never did their rounds/checks as they were supposed to. During an interview with CO he stated, he was working an overtime shift in the Special Housing Unit (SHU), 10 South, on a 12am-8am shift at the time that JEFFREY EPSTEIN was found unresponsive in his cell. was in 10 South when the call came over, referring to when EPSTEIN was found unresponsive in his cell. then worked another shift in the SHU, 8am-4pm. stated that he once fed EPSTEIN because EPSTEIN had not received his meal and that EPSTEIN was grateful. said that EPSTEIN didn't appear to be dangerous and that EPSTEIN never offered him EFTA00164554 money for anything. stated that he was shocked that this had happened, referring to EPSTEIN's death. said that EPSTEIN was supposed to be watched more closely and that the rounds should have been conducted regardless of whether EPSTEIN had previously been on suicide watch or not. The case was closed and evidence disposed of with approval of the assistant United States Attorney(AUSA)on 21 October 2023.
