10-4, thanks
On Au 12, 2019 5:27 PM,
ust advised that the Lieutenant and Captain on duty at the time of death have agreed to be interviewed
and this is occurring now in our office. Two of the guards who were part of the initial team that discovered
Epstein's body rejected our request and directed us to contact their attorneys. We are working with the
remaining staff members to schedules times for them to come in for interviews. Our plan is to conduct those
interviews as soon as they are willing to make themselves available.
Team is updating the HQ sitrep with that info.
Separately- media is aware of search on island.

Will get a firmer timeline, but we have subpoenas for 3 officers phones. After they are served and then
data pulled, we will attempt interviews. I believe one officer would not answer her door this afternoon.

Just sending a quick note on the interview of the MCC Warden.
The Warden of the MCC
was interviewed at the offices of the SDNY with no
representation from an attorney or the union. The interview was audio recorded and will be transcribed by
NY GIG. A report of the transcription will be provided to the FBI.
_was
courteous and forthcoming. He advised that he was on leave at the time of Epstein's death,
but was notified by his acting Warden and responded to the MCC immediately.
provided a
summary of the protocols within MCC/BOP that are in place for such an incident, andescribed how he
followed though protocols.
Generally
nterview consisted of the discussion of procedural matters. There was nothing of
significance with regard to evidentiary items pertaining to the death investigation that was gleaned from
this interview.
