Would you be able to answer the questions that I have about this case? I would appreciate it. Thank you. I have been reassigned a FOIA case on Jeffrey Edward Epstein (DOB 01/20/1953 SSN 090443348) as requested by him through the law office of Martin G Weinberg. The file which is responsive to this request is 31E-MM-108062 and it is listed as pending. The subject made a previous request in Sept. Of 2008 through a different lawyer. At that time, we generated a B7A letter and closed the case because the case was pending and we were given specific answers to pending questions that would allow us to do so. At this time, we have new pending questions that must be answered in reference to pending files. Would you be able to help me gain this information so that I can process the case correctly? I would appreciate the help. Thank you. Our purpose is to collect and review the responsive information to determine how to properly respond to FOIPA requests. Depending on your response to the questions below, the FOIPA may allow for the application of certain exemptions or exclusions. A FOIA exemption will acknowledge that the subject of this FOIPA request is located within a pending investigation and the responsive documents may be withheld from public release during the pendency of the investigation. Has the subject been interviewed? Application of B7A (law enforcement exemption) will only apply as long as the investigation is pending. However, once the case is no longer pending additional exemptions may be applied to third party privacy, classified, and all other sensitive information, as appropriate. Thank you.
